KIRKUK, Iraq โ Security sources said the body of a young man who drowned in the Lesser Zab River was recovered on Saturday after a three-day search. River police and rescue teams carried out intensive operations in the Tat Tat area north of Kirkuk, the sources said.
The victim was identified as Abdullah Nizar Yasin al-Azi, a resident of Kirkuk's Arubah neighborhood. He had drowned in the river three days earlier, prompting his family to appeal to authorities, diving teams and volunteers for help. Search efforts in the area continued without interruption.
The incident occurred in the Tat Tat locality north of Kirkuk. No further details on the circumstances of the drowning were immediately available.
