BASRA, Iraq โ The Basra Governorate has ordered a three-day work suspension at official institutions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with staff to be placed on administrative leave, the governorate said in a statement. The decision covers all government offices in the province, according to the announcement, which did not detail the reason behind the measure.
The governorate instructed department heads to make the necessary arrangements to ensure services are not disrupted and urged residents to take the dates into account when planning official business.
Security forces and health facilities are exempt from the order and will continue their regular duties. Officials said the measure is an administrative decision by the governorate and should not be linked to any security threat.
