Basra Governor Calls for Upgrades to Health Insurance System

Basra Governor As'ad al-Eidani on Saturday called for improving the health insurance system and strengthening the mechanisms for implementing it, saying the framework is needed to ensure citizens can access required medical care during serious illnesses and health crises. Al-Eidani said the local administration supports efforts to reform the health insurance file in Basra. He added that most public health institutions have the capacity to implement the system. The governor said improving health sector infrastructure and raising service quality remain a priority.
