Baghdad police say two brothers killed sibling, tried to stage suicide

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Police in Baghdad said they uncovered a family killing in the Zaferaniyah area that had been made to look like a suicide. The Rusafa Police Command said the victim was killed by two brothers following a domestic dispute, and that the suspects tried to mislead investigators by staging the scene as a suicide. According to the command, the case was handled jointly by the anti-crime units, Zaferaniyah emergency patrols and intelligence officers. Technical examinations and inter-unit coordination led to the truth being established, it said. The two suspects were taken into custody and the weapon used in the killing was seized, the command added. The suspects have been referred to the judiciary, it said, without providing further details.
