Baghdad Municipality signs cooperation MoU with Morocco's Tangier

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Baghdad Municipality announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Tangier, Morocco, covering mutual cooperation and the exchange of expertise. The agreement was concluded on the sidelines of the World Congress held in Tangier by United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), during which a delegation headed by Baghdad Mayor Ammar Musa Kazim took part. Under the memorandum, Baghdad Mayor Ammar Musa Kazim signed on behalf of the Iraqi side, while Tangier Mayor Mounir Limouri signed for the Moroccan side. The ceremony was attended by UCLG Regional President Mehmet Doman, Arab Cities Organization Secretary-General Badr Wail al-Ajili, and representatives of several Arab municipalities participating in the congress. The agreement aims to share expertise and successful practices in urban management, sustainable development, municipal services and local administration. It also provides for technical and administrative knowledge exchange, reciprocal visits, workshops and specialization programs. The two sides further agreed to carry out joint work on urban planning, digital transformation, the development of municipal services and improvements in local government efficiency.
