Prime Minister Ali Fahd al-Zeydi ordered members of his ministerial team to complete their asset declarations within one week of taking office, and said he had already submitted his own declaration to the head of the Integrity Commission, making him among the first to meet the legal requirement.
Zeydi then visited the Ministry of Electricity in Baghdad for a meeting with senior officials to review current projects and future plans. He stressed the need to preserve the stability of the national grid during the high-demand summer period.
He instructed the ministry to strengthen generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure. He also called on staff to intensify their efforts, extend power supply hours and reduce outages.
The prime minister said the measures were needed to ease the burden on citizens as electricity demand rises, underscoring the government’s focus on both administrative compliance and service delivery.
