Prime Minister Ali Falih Zaydi said members of his ministerial team must complete their financial disclosure statements within one week of taking office, and he personally submitted his own declaration to the head of the Integrity Commission. The statement said the move complies with legal obligations and is intended to prevent conflicts of interest.
Zaydi also visited the Ministry of Electricity in Baghdad and met with senior officials to review projects under way to keep the national grid stable during the summer months. The meeting also covered future plans for the sector.
He instructed ministry staff to intensify work on strengthening generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure. He also ordered efforts to reduce outages.
The directives place financial transparency and electricity-sector performance at the center of the government’s early agenda, with the aim of supporting administrative accountability and improving supply stability.
