DUHOK, Iraq โ Zaho Sports Club will host Air Defense on Saturday in a critical game of the Iraqi basketball Super League final series, Iraqi Basketball Federation board member Ala Cabbar said. The match is scheduled to be played at the Zaho Club hall in Duhok, in the Kurdistan Region.
Cabbar said Air Defense will be formally declared league champion if it wins Saturday's game. A Zaho victory would even the series at 2-2 and send the teams to a decisive fifth and final match.
The federation has set that potential fifth game for Tuesday, August 26, at 7 p.m. at the Armenian Club hall in Baghdad. The league champion will be determined by the team with the most wins across the five-game series.
Zaho defeated Air Defense 90-76 in the third final on Monday night at the Armenian Club hall in Baghdad, delaying Air Defense's earlier push for the title after it had won the first two games of the series. The federation rescheduled the matchups between the two clubs from Thursday to Saturday to accommodate television broadcasts.
