BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Wisdom Movement (Hikma) said Monday it fully supports ongoing Iraqi state efforts against corruption, backing the role of the government, judiciary and the Federal Commission of Integrity in protecting public resources within the legal framework.
In a written statement, the movement said that compliance with investigations by any official is a sign of respect for constitutional institutions and the judiciary. It reiterated the principle that suspects are presumed innocent until a final judicial verdict, and that legal accountability is personal and cannot be transferred to any political, social or institutional affiliation.
The statement called for corruption cases to be left to the independent Iraqi judiciary and warned against using them for political or media purposes. It added that the movement would continue to back national anti-corruption efforts, without providing further details.
