The White House has dismissed reports circulated by Iranian state-controlled media regarding a purported memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. A spokesperson for the White House characterized the claims as entirely fabricated.
Iranian state television previously publicized a 14-point draft proposal that called for the withdrawal of US forces from the region and the lifting of maritime embargoes.
The draft specifically proposed returning commercial shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within one month, while excluding military vessels from the arrangement.
Iran requested a concrete monitoring mechanism to oversee implementation before committing to any formal obligations.
The proposal further suggested that if an agreement were reached within 60 days, the text would be rendered binding through a United Nations Security Council resolution.
