BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A fire broke out Thursday at a gas station in Ba'jail, north of Salah al-Din province, after a vehicle that had waited in a long queue due to a nationwide fuel shortage reached the pump. The vehicle caught fire at the fuel station.
Civil Defense teams responded immediately to the blaze, preventing the flames from spreading to other parts of the station and nearby vehicles. The fire was brought under control within a short time.
No casualties were reported. Damage was limited to the vehicle involved. Security forces have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances of the incident.
The General Traffic Department called on citizens and drivers to comply with traffic regulations while refueling, use designated routes for entry and exit, and cooperate with traffic authorities.
