WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — US Vice President J.D. Vance said the United States is aiming to achieve concrete and positive results within 60 days from the anticipated negotiations with Iran. Speaking to reporters, Vance said Washington is working toward a comprehensive peace agreement after more than three months of rising tension in the region.
Vance said that he and President Donald Trump do not view direct negotiations with Iran as a "reward" given to Tehran, but rather as a serious move toward real and concrete steps. He noted that he plans to attend talks scheduled in Geneva and that he had also taken part in discussions in Pakistan within that framework, with the aim of testing Iran's intentions.
Vance emphasized that the United States will remain engaged in negotiations with Iran and continue working for outcomes that serve the American people's interests. He added that under no circumstances would the US pay Iran from its own funds.
