US Treasury removes Fly Baghdad from sanctions list, updates affiliated entries

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The US Department of the Treasury updated its sanctions list through the Office of Foreign Assets Control, removing Iraqi carrier Fly Baghdad and two of its Boeing 737 aircraft from the designation.
According to the Treasuryโs announcement, the revised list no longer includes Fly Baghdad or two affiliated entities previously identified as "Iraq Express" and "Fly Baghdad Airlines Company."
The department also amended the entry for Bechir Abdul Kazzim Alwan al-Shabani, whose listed affiliation was changed from Fly Baghdad to Iranโs Islamic Revolutionary Guard CorpsโQuds Force.
The move terminates the sanctions status of the airline and its two aircraft. No further details on the rationale for the changes were immediately disclosed in the announcement.
