US plans to send Iranian and other migrants to Central African Republic

The United States is preparing to send Iranian nationals and other irregular migrants to the Central African Republic, according to Reuters. Sources told the agency that the flight will also include Syrian, Afghan and one Turkish national. Reuters reported that the first flight is expected to carry about 20 people to the Central African Republic. The agency said the aircraft transporting the migrants could depart in the early hours of the day. US President Donald Trump pledged at his inauguration to immediately halt illegal immigration and to begin processing millions of migrants in the country. He also declared a national emergency over conditions at the US southern border. The Trump administration's transfer of migrants to third countries has previously drawn attention and sparked debate over deportation practices.
