RIYADH, Saudi Arabia โ€” The Saudi-led coalition said Friday morning that 11 civilians were wounded when projectiles fired by Yemen's Houthis struck the southwestern Najran region. Coalition spokesman Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki said in a written statement that the Thursday attacks injured 11 civilians in Najran, seven of them Saudis, along with one Egyptian and one Pakistani national. Al-Maliki said the wounded Saudis included a woman and a 4-year-old child who sustained second-degree burns. He described the Houthi attacks, in which projectiles were fired indiscriminately at civilian areas, as a clear violation of international humanitarian law and its customary rules through the deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian structures. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sare'e had earlier said the group would maintain its policy of "siege against siege" until the blockade on Yemen is lifted. No further details on the condition of the wounded were immediately available.
