US dollar climbs again at Baghdad and Erbil exchange offices

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The US dollar rose against the Iraqi dinar at retail exchange offices in Baghdad and Erbil as the market closed on Sunday. A Shafaq News correspondent reported that the rate at Baghdad's Kifach and Hariciye exchanges moved from 152,100 dinar per 100 dollars in the morning to 152,250 dinar later in the day. At exchange offices across Baghdad, the selling price for 100 dollars reached 152,750 dinar, while the buying price stood at 151,750 dinar. A parallel increase was recorded in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, where 100 dollars was sold for 152,350 dinar and bought for 152,300 dinar. No official statement on the exchange rate has been issued by Iraqi authorities or the Central Bank of Iraq. Retail currency prices in Iraq continue to fluctuate, and traders and citizens are closely monitoring the rates at the start of each new trading session.
