WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — US crude oil imports from Iraq dropped to zero barrels in the week ending June 12, according to weekly data released by the US Energy Information Administration. Shipments from Iraq had averaged 107,000 barrels per day the previous week.
Canada remained the largest crude supplier to the United States during the same period, exporting 3.718 million barrels per day. Venezuela followed with 535,000 barrels per day, Mexico with 249,000, Ecuador with 169,000 and Brazil with 133,000.
Imports from Saudi Arabia totaled 71,000 barrels per day, while Colombia delivered 11,000 barrels per day. The United States also imported no crude from Nigeria and Libya during the week.
Historical data show that Iraq's crude shipments to the United States have fluctuated sharply over time.
