WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump said in a Fox News interview that American inspectors will join International Atomic Energy Agency teams to inspect nuclear facilities in Iran, adding that there is no rush for the inspectors to arrive in Iran. Trump said Tehran had agreed to accept nuclear inspectors on its territory. Iran rejected the proposal. Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said access to nuclear facilities that were struck, and the nuclear material at those sites, could only be discussed after a definitive agreement is reached with the United States and concrete steps are taken to lift sanctions. The Iranian Foreign Ministry also reiterated that there is no plan in place for IAEA inspectors to access the struck nuclear facilities and materials. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said the agency would carry out inspections in Iran soon following a temporary agreement reached between Washington and Tehran. Talks between the United States and Iran on Iran's nuclear program and international inspection mechanisms are continuing, with the details of a final arrangement still under negotiation between the two sides.
