BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Two separate suicide cases were reported in Baghdad on Thursday, leaving one woman dead and a young man seriously injured, according to a security source. The first incident occurred in the Sihha neighborhood of the southern Dawlat district, where a woman died by hanging herself from a ceiling. Her family told authorities she had been suffering from psychological problems.
In a separate case the same day in the eastern Umm al-Kiber and Ghazale area, a young man born in 2000 attempted to burn himself at home after dousing himself with gasoline. He sustained burns across about 80 percent of his body and was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The security source said the young man had also been under psychological pressure. No further details were immediately available.
