BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A collision between two vehicles on the road linking the Dor subdistrict to Tikrit in Iraq's Saladin province killed two people and injured five others on Tuesday, according to a security source cited by local police.
Ambulance crews transported the injured to hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the forensic medicine department. Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
In a separate development, police in Tuz Khurmatu said they had arrested a suspect wanted under Article 406 of the Iraqi Penal Code in the Republican neighborhood of the district. The suspect was detained as part of an operation carried out in line with an arrest warrant issued in his name, and has been referred to the relevant authorities to complete legal proceedings.
