Two solar explosions recorded on the morning of June 3 sent plasma clouds hurtling toward Earth, according to experts at the Russian Academy of Sciences Solar Astronomy Laboratory. The eruptions were classified as X9.3 and M7.7 magnitude events. Scientists said the plasma clouds are expected to merge in space, forming a single structure before arriving at Earth. They compared the acceleration mechanism to the drafting technique used in bicycle racing, where the first plasma ejection creates conditions that propel the second cloud forward. The first plasma core is forecast to reach Earth's magnetic field around 10 p.m. on June 5, with the second expected to arrive around 2 a.m. on June 6. Officials said the collision could trigger G3 and G4 level magnetic storms, potentially disrupting satellite systems and communication networks. The laboratory noted that calculations may be updated within the next 24 hours, though the collision was described as highly likely.
