England manager Thomas Tuchel has told his players not to climb advertising boards while celebrating goals during the 2026 World Cup quarterfinal against Norway. The directive follows an incident in England's 3-2 win over Mexico in the round of 16, when midfielder Jordan Henderson, 36, attempted to leap over a board after Harry Kane's third goal, fell and suffered a broken arm that ended his tournament, according to the BBC. Henderson also sustained a serious ankle injury in the incident.
England booked its place in the last 16 with the victory over Mexico and faces Norway, a quarterfinalist for the first time, in the next round. Norway advanced by beating Brazil 2-1 in the round of 16, with Erling Haaland featuring prominently.
The quarterfinal is scheduled for July 12 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, kicking off at midnight local time in Turkey. England also reached the quarterfinals at the 2022 World Cup.
