Trump says US will strike Iranian mountain site 'very soon'

WASHINGTON, United States — U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will strike Iran's Fordow site, which lies near the Natanz uranium enrichment facility and sustained heavy damage, "very soon." The site is heavily fortified and contains two tunnel complexes buried deep underground, which experts assess could lie beyond the reach of the most powerful bunker-busting bombs in the U.S. arsenal. Israeli intelligence services estimate that Iran moved thousands of centrifuges used in uranium enrichment into the tunnels during the previous autumn, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Israeli and U.S. officials. The report said Israel shared those assessments with Washington. According to the officials, the centrifuges were transferred to the facility, known in Iran as "Pickaxe Mountain" or "Fordow," after a 12-day war in June 2025. During that war, the United States and Israel carried out intensive airstrikes against three main Iranian nuclear sites.
