BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A traffic accident on the Hit-Baghdadi highway in western Anbar province has killed seven people, including women and children, and left three others seriously injured, according to Anbar Health Directorate press director Mohammed al-Qaisi. The injured are receiving treatment at Hit General Hospital, al-Qaisi said, adding that the death toll could be revised as more information becomes available.
Anbar security officials said the crash occurred when two vehicles collided on the highway. Ambulances and civil defense teams were dispatched to the scene, and the wounded were transported to hospital while the bodies of those killed were taken to the forensic medicine department.
Health and security teams continued their work at the site, al-Qaisi said. No further details on the cause of the collision were immediately available.
