Tim Curry, actor known for 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' and 'Home Alone 2,' dies at 80

Tim Curry, the British actor who became a cult favorite for his roles in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" and the 1990 television adaptation of "It," has died at the age of 80. According to TMZ, Curry died at his home in Los Angeles. Born in 1946 in Warrington, Cheshire, he had used a wheelchair since suffering a major stroke in 2012 and had lived with serious health complications in the years since. Curry studied drama at the universities of Cambridge and Birmingham before beginning his Hollywood work in the 1960s. He went on to appear in more than 200 productions, including roles as hotel concierge Mr. Hector in "Home Alone 2" and the clown Pennywise in the television film "It." Beyond film and television, he also worked as a rock musician and provided voice performances for animated features and video games.
