A growing number of TikTok creators are filming their "Get Ready With Me" (GRWM) videos while partially undressed, drawing criticism online for what some viewers call gratuitous exposure. In the clips, content producers appear on camera with little or no clothing on top, or in undergarments, before putting on their outfits piece by piece to show their final look. Some creators turn their backs to the camera or reveal part of their chest, while others model clothes over a bra. The trend has been partly linked to attention tactics. According to Meta's advertising metrics, a video is counted as successful when viewers watch for more than three seconds, prompting some producers to open with provocative imagery to keep audiences engaged. Australian creator Joelya Jackson, whose video on the topic drew more than 300,000 views, questioned why users film the clips in that way. Reactions among social media users have been split, with some calling the videos "embarrassing" and "unnecessary," while others argue creators should be free to post any content that does not violate platform rules.
