PARIS, France — PARIS — French authorities said a man was detained after a stabbing attack in the Porte de Clichy area in northwestern Paris that injured three women. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the attacker used two knives and that two of the women were seriously wounded.
The minister added that the injured are not in life-threatening condition and that an off-duty police officer apprehended the suspect at the scene. French authorities have not released the assailant's identity.
Security forces launched a broader investigation in the area after the attack, and a large number of police officers and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the site. Officials said an investigation into the attack is ongoing and that security measures have been reinforced in the area.
