SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq โ Police in Sulaymaniyah arrested three suspected drug dealers on August 19 and seized a large quantity of liquid hashish smuggled into the Kurdistan Region from outside the area, the city's General Directorate of Public Security said on Thursday. The operation followed extended surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts, the directorate said in a statement.
Investigators recovered processed liquid hashish that had been concealed inside electronic cigarette devices for sale, according to the statement. The directorate did not specify the exact amount seized or provide further details about the suspects.
The three suspects have been referred to judicial authorities under Article 25 of the Iraqi Law on Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, the statement said.
