NASHVILLE, Tenn. โ A Metro Nashville Police Department officer has resigned after an internal investigation documented a sexual relationship with a colleague inside a school where she was assigned. Officer Lisa Federios stepped down following a report from the department's professional accountability unit, which found she engaged in a sexual act with Lieutenant Stephen Holland in a school office during school hours, while students and staff were in the building. The investigation also found the two arranged to meet at the school during their shifts.
The affair came to light after Federios's husband, fellow Metro Nashville officer Angel Federios, handed over messages and images to authorities. Both officers were placed on administrative leave. Federios accepted a 30-day suspension before separating from the department, while Holland declined to be interviewed in the investigation because he is receiving retirement pay following an on-duty injury.
Federios had served nine years in the U.S. Marine Corps before joining the Nashville force. According to the department, she and her husband graduated together from the Nashville Metro Police Academy in 2022, making them the first married couple to complete the program at the same time. No further details were immediately available about potential disciplinary action against Holland.
