Teenager jailed in France over alleged plot to kidnap Kylian Mbappé

The suspect, identified as Clément L., was charged on August 21, 2026, in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris, according to the French newspaper. Prosecutors said Clément L. continued to run the suspected criminal network from prison via Snapchat while serving sentences for other offenses. Investigators examining two electronic devices seized at the prison uncovered a list of 26 addresses belonging to businesspeople, traders, rappers and footballers, the report said. A judicial source confirmed that the suspect had specifically targeted a rapper and Mbappé, captain of the France national team. The investigation was opened in April after gunmen disguised as delivery workers targeted the home of a watch dealer in Neuilly-sur-Seine, followed days later by an armed robbery at the watchmaker's shop. French security forces dismantled the network, and Clément L. has been placed in high-security solitary confinement. No further details were immediately available.
