Suspect arrested in shooting at Erbil's Green Belt project site

ERBIL, Iraq — Erbil's Directorate of Asayish said a suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting during work on the city's Green Belt project. According to a statement from the directorate, company employees carrying out the project within Erbil's administrative boundaries were obstructed and attacked by local residents, leaving three project workers injured. The suspect, identified only by the initials M. T. T., was taken into custody under an order from the Erbil Asayish investigating judge after being identified as the person who used the firearm, the directorate said. His full name was not released.
