SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq โ Pharmacy students at Kivan International University in Sulaymaniyah have developed and produced a line of cosmetic products, according to Sene Mohammed, the scientific activities officer at the university's Faculty of Science. Mohammed said a dedicated health event was held to showcase the products, describing it as the first such initiative at the level of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The cosmetics were formulated in line with scientific and health standards, with a focus on high quality and minimizing potential side effects for users, Mohammed said. The project, she added, is intended to strengthen students' practical skills, connect academic knowledge with real market needs, and encourage scientific research in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.
University officials said the locally produced products contribute to the development of the medical cosmetics industry and expand domestic manufacturing capacity. Mohammed described the work as a reflection of the students' scientific progress and their ability to deliver products meeting high standards.
