BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” The Reconstruction and Development Coalition, part of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani's governing framework, said the premier's proposal to replace six cabinet ministers has been rejected by political blocs. Coalition spokesman Firas al-Muslawi said the proposal, submitted during Sudani's previous government, was turned down by political parties. Muslawi said the government had referred five ministers to the judiciary during that period but was unable to secure the political support needed to complete the legal process. He described the current government of Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi as holding broader political authority. The coalition said it backs the use of that authority to open all corruption cases without exception, with final rulings left to the Iraqi judiciary. No immediate response from Sudani's office or the political blocs was reported.
