LJUBLJANA, Slovenia โ Slovenia did not allow an Israeli passenger aircraft to land at Ljubljana airport, forcing the plane to divert to Zagreb airport in Croatia, according to Israeli carrier Israir.
The airline said the decision was linked to the stance of Slovenian local authorities toward the Israeli governmentโs policy. The report said the landing issue was being viewed in the context of political relations between the two countries.
It also said people close to Slovenian sources said the matter could be resolved soon. The report added that right-wing leader Janez Jansa, who has the backing of 51 parliamentarians, is expected to return as prime minister in place of current liberal Prime Minister Robert Golob.
