Israeli airstrikes hit several areas of Gaza on Sunday, killing seven Palestinians, according to civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal. Warplanes struck Gaza City, Deir el-Balah and Khan Younis in separate attacks, Basal said. Civil defense teams recovered 112 bodies from the rubble of collapsed houses in Gaza City's al-Sabra neighborhood, where search operations are continuing for dozens more people reported missing. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that a separate strike hit a warehouse storing medicine and medical supplies belonging to Martyrs of al-Aqsa Hospital, destroying two of the storage units completely and heavily damaging two others. The Health Ministry said 152 people were killed in Gaza in July, the highest monthly toll since the start of the year. It put the overall death toll from Israeli bombardment since October 2025 at 1,222. Civil defense officials said the search in al-Sabra, which lasted roughly two weeks, recovered 40 children, 38 women and seven people with disabilities among the 112 bodies pulled from the debris. Colonel Mohammed Abu Dan, who oversees the body recovery effort, said 157 bodies remain trapped under the rubble. The International Committee of the Red Cross has been providing support to search and rescue teams, he added.
