Saraya Eyyidid-Dem denies involvement in Erbil, Kuwait attacks

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — The military spokesman of Saraya Eyyidid-Dem, Abu Mahdi al-Jaafari, has rejected reports linking the group to recent attacks on Erbil and Kuwait, calling the claims "entirely unfounded." In a written statement, al-Jaafari said the group had not carried out any military operations against Erbil, Kuwait or any other target in recent periods. The statement described media reports linking the group to the attacks as an attempt to "create confusion and distort facts." It also stressed that Saraya Eyyidid-Dem is not affiliated with any group or party and that its decisions are guided by what it described as a "legitimate, national and humanitarian" mission. Al-Jaafari said news and analyses associating the group with the attacks were "far from truth and impartiality." The denial appeared to respond to claims aired by Al-Had channel, which cited unnamed sources saying the group had targeted U.S. bases in Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. No further details were immediately available.
