Samerrai, Barzani discuss completion of cabinet in Erbil

ERBIL, Iraq — Al-Azm Coalition chief Muthanna al-Samarrai met Kurdistan Democratic Party leader Masoud Barzani in Erbil to discuss Iraq’s political developments and several current issues, according to a statement from al-Samarrai’s office. The statement said the two men reviewed the need to preserve political understandings and strengthen partnership among national forces. It said that approach would support state institutions in carrying out their duties and contribute to the country’s stability. Al-Samarrai and Barzani also discussed completing the government cabinet. They said the process should be concluded within the framework of electoral, political and national entitlements. The statement added that the meeting included views on continuing contacts related to forming the cabinet.
