Russian Embassy in Stockholm targeted in two drone attacks

BASRA, Iraq — STOCKHOLM — The Russian Embassy in Stockholm was targeted in two drone attacks, with one device dropping a container of red paint into the diplomatic mission's garden and a second landing near the embassy building carrying a dummy device resembling an improvised explosive. In a statement, the Russian diplomatic mission said the incident was not a simple act of provocation but an attempt to intimidate Russian personnel, adding that such actions would not be tolerated. The attacks came amid heightened tensions linked to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Earlier in the day, Russia launched a large-scale strike on Kyiv using ballistic missiles and drones, killing 13 people, including children, and wounding 25 others. Officials described the Kyiv assault as one of the heaviest air attacks on the Ukrainian capital in recent months, with drone exchanges between Moscow and Kyiv continuing in the aftermath.
