TEHRAN, Iran — TEHRAN — Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council President Judge Faiq Zeydan arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-level judicial delegation following an official invitation, according to a source familiar with the visit. The trip is taking place within the framework of judicial relations between Iraq and Iran, and the delegation is expected to review several files of mutual interest. Zeydan was accompanied by the head of the Judicial Inspection Board, the head of the Public Prosecution Department, and the director general of the Judicial Guard Department. In Tehran, the Iraqi delegation was received by Iran's Deputy Head of the Judiciary and the Secretary-General of the Judiciary's Human Rights Commission, Nasser Seraj. A statement issued by the Judicial Council said the talks focused on joint judicial files between the two countries. The council did not provide further details on the specific cases discussed. Zeydan visited Saudi Arabia last week on a similar trip, meeting officials in Riyadh to discuss judicial cooperation, according to the same source.
