MOSCOW โ Russia temporarily closed four airports in Moscow and the surrounding region after a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack targeted the capital area, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 59 drones, and Sobyanin reported no serious damage inside the city.
In Crimea, the Russia-installed local administration said four people were killed and 28 wounded in strikes on the Kerch area, and that fuel sales were suspended at some petrol stations. One person also died on a ferry linking the peninsula to Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his forces carried out long-range operations targeting Russian military logistics, oil facilities and air defense assets. He said oil installations in Krasnodar and an oil depot in Kerch were hit, and that four radar stations and two Pantsir systems linked to Russian S-400 air defense units were struck.
The exchanges are part of an intensifying pattern of strikes by both sides on military infrastructure and energy facilities.
