Rubio warns Iran to reach a deal or face other options

NEW DELHI, India — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a blunt warning to Iran during his visit to India, saying Washington would give diplomacy every chance but would turn to other options if talks fail. Rubio said Iran has the potential to enter “limited-time” negotiations with the United States on the nuclear file. He did not elaborate on what those other options would be. Officials from the two countries are already working on a framework that would foresee reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which is critical for maritime traffic. Under that framework, Iran would be expected to dispose of its highly enriched uranium.
