Katia Aveiro, sister of Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, said the wedding date for Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodríguez has not been finalized, contradicting earlier media reports. Speaking to Portugal's TV 7 Dias channel at a launch event for her clothing brand "KA The Brand" at a hotel in Portugal, Katia dismissed speculation that the ceremony would take place this year.
Earlier reports had suggested the wedding was planned for August or September on Madeira Island. Katia said she would not be wearing a wedding dress this year for herself or anyone else, indicating the timeline had not been confirmed.
Her sister Elma Aveiro also addressed the rumors, saying a wedding had initially been planned but was later postponed. Elma confirmed the couple intends to marry and said the family supports them, adding that marriage was not originally Ronaldo's idea but came from Rodríguez. She also rejected reports that the ceremony would be held in Madeira, saying the priority was Ronaldo's happiness.
Katia separately said she was saddened by the criticism directed at her brother during the World Cup.
