Saudi media outlets have reported new developments regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Al-Nassr. Saudi journalist Saud Al-Sarrami said Ronaldo has lost the motivation to play every match of the season as he once did and plans to feature in fewer than half of Al-Nassr's games next season.
Al-Sarrami said the Al-Nassr captain wants to cut his number of appearances in order to avoid fatigue from a heavy travel and match schedule. The journalist also said Ronaldo has grown dissatisfied with a narrowing of his managerial authority at the club.
According to Al-Sarrami, those frustrations have been compounded by the club's inability to pursue the transfer targets Ronaldo wanted, a constraint linked to financial limits and existing debt. The journalist noted that Saudi press reports have placed those debts at roughly $1 billion. Al-Nassr has not publicly addressed the reported comments.
