The Sun reported that the ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at a cathedral in Funchal, with two floors of the nearby five-star Savoy Palace hotel reserved for a wedding reception. Guests staying at the hotel were told that two floors would be out of service on Friday and Saturday, with some bars and sections closed for the event. Ronaldo and Rodriguez began their relationship in 2016 and got engaged in August of last year. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo noted that the couple was recently seen on a family holiday on the island of Mallorca in Spain, which it said weakened speculation about an August wedding. Neither party has issued an official statement confirming the date or venue. The Sun also reported that several facilities at the hotel had been prepared for the event. Mundo Deportivo added that Ronaldo has not yet joined Al Nassr's pre-season training camp in Portugal, with his return date unclear two weeks before the new season begins.
