SALADIN, Iraq โ Reports from Iraq indicate that a reconciliation proposal has been put forward within the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement concerning several members sought by the judiciary. The proposal reportedly includes handling the legal cases of those individuals in exchange for the return of funds suspected of being linked to corruption files, alongside a gradual withdrawal of the movement from the political scene.
According to the reports, the scope of the initiative extends to figures associated with or considered part of the movement, including MP Zaynab al-Musawi, Bayji Refinery economics official Awn, MP Adnan Awad, Abu Aws and Haji Sabit. The reports stressed that the identities and the underlying files still require verification by the competent judicial authorities.
The reports also pointed to growing financial and security pressure on political blocs during a period when the anti-corruption campaign and public calls for the judiciary to have the final say have intensified. If confirmed, the initiative is seen as having the potential to reshape the relationship between judicial files and political influence within the movement.
