Putin Says Ukraine Conflict Could End if Kyiv Accepts Conditions Discussed in Anchorage

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine's acceptance of terms discussed in Anchorage would bring an end to the fighting, according to comments made during a meeting with international news agencies. Putin stated that Moscow is prepared to reach a peaceful settlement with Ukraine. The Russian leader said the proposals presented during a meeting between U.S. President Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, had received Moscow's approval. Putin indicated that if Kyiv also accepts the same conditions, the conflict would reach its natural conclusion. Putin added that achieving full control of the Donbas region and reaching an agreement are not mutually exclusive, while noting that Russian forces continue advancing in the area.
