LONDON โ A small aircraft crashed during an air show in southeast England on Sunday afternoon, leaving the pilot seriously injured, according to The Sun. The crash occurred near Southend Airport at the Stow Maries Aerodrome, a military museum site, during a public display.
The pilot was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in London for treatment. Officials said no spectators were injured in the incident.
The venue was closed and the air show was brought to an end following the crash. Britain's Air Accidents Investigation Branch said it had opened an inquiry into the accident and that initial findings would be released next week. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
