Ninawa governor says over 20,000 dunums prepared for more than 100,000 homes

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Ninewa Governor Abdulqadir al-Dahl said more than 20,000 dunums of land have been prepared in the province to build over 100,000 housing units under a national one-million-housing initiative linked to the prime minister's office. Speaking after a meeting, al-Dahl said the prepared plots will be allocated to citizens in need, prioritizing those without homes, and to other segments of the community. The governor said the land, with infrastructure in place, will be developed under a "real estate developer" model. He added that implementation will be transferred to the prime minister's office, after which distribution to eligible beneficiaries will begin. Al-Dahl's meeting was attended by his technical affairs deputy, Khalid Abdulkarim al-Ubaidi, along with the heads of the urban planning, left and right property registration, state land, investment, and agriculture departments, as well as the Mosul municipality.
