Najaf shrine foundation reports services for Prophet's death anniversary commemoration

NAJAF, Iraq — The Imam Ali Shrine Foundation in Najaf released a summary of services provided during commemorations marking the death anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad. Foundation media director Haydar Rahim said roughly 2,500 volunteers took part in the observances and more than 350 local and international media outlets operated in the area. The foundation said it set up 15 religious service points staffed by 60 instructors at its religious benefit centers. Foundation kitchens distributed more than 250,000 meals, with an additional 150,000 meals served from 12 separate locations, according to the statement. On the medical side, the foundation said it deployed 280 volunteer doctors and medical personnel across five medical units. It also hosted more than 100 commemoration convoys under its security and mobilization plan. The foundation reported additional logistical support, including more than 3 million liters of purified drinking water, 6 million liters of untreated water and a fleet of more than 350 vehicles. No further details on the commemorations were immediately available.
