NAJAF, Iraq โ The Najaf Generators Department issued new instructions to generator owners in the province for September, setting fixed amperage prices and operating hours. The department announced the decisions of the commission responsible for setting amperage rates, including a standard rate of 9,000 dinars per ampere for all public generators across registered, unregistered and conservation zones.
Normal operating hours are set from midnight to 4:00 a.m., to be run in rotation with the national electricity grid. Owners will also be able to offer optional 24-hour continuous service, charged at 15,000 dinars per ampere. Under the new schedule, generators must take a one-hour break after every four hours of uninterrupted operation.
The department set the fuel quota at 35 liters per kilowatt, with a price of 400 dinars per liter. It also opened phone number 07859240225 for complaints, to be used by text message. Officials warned that generator owners must follow the established pricing and operating rules and must not charge extra for additional hours, or face legal action and the shutdown of their generators.
